There are a number of important updates regarding vaccinations:
● Most vaccination sites now have access to both Pfizer and Astrazeneca vaccinations. Generally, Astrazeneca is being used for second doses, and Pfizer is being used for new vaccinations.
Over 35s now able to book their vaccination appointment online at the national booking portal
Pregnant women are now advised to get vaccinated with either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine
JCVI - the national scientific advisory council recently announced that anyone under the age of 40 should be offered either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine instead of AstraZeneca
Second Dose Vaccinations
It is important not to miss your second dose of vaccine. Getting both doses of these vaccines maximizes your ability to receive full immunity from the vaccine. Receiving only one dose does not provide you with the full protection and does not provide full effectiveness of the vaccine.
How to book your second vaccination appointment
If you booked your first dose on the NHS website or by calling 119, you should have booked your second dose at the same time and received an email or text message confirming the date. If you walked in to one of the sites, you can call 119 or visit the NHS website to arrange a reminder or change the date.
If you had your first dose at the John Scott or Bocking Street Vaccination Centres (or at a
pop-up outreach clinic), you’ll get a phone call or text using the contact details you provided before the 77th day after your first appointment (11 weeks). If it’s been more than 77 days since your first dose, email cahccg.gpcovid-19@nhs.net or phone 020 7729 7236 with your name, date of birth plus the date and site you attended.
