Have Yourself A Very Chinglish Christmas!

December seems to be all about celebrations!

On 7th, we co-hosted our fabulous third #ChineseFoodiesofIG Potluck Club with the ever wonderful Jenny Lau (@celestialpeach_uk). This month, the club was festively themed “Have Yourself A Very Chinglish Christmas!”.

We wanted to celebrate Christmas with a twist of Chinese culture, and asked folk to mix things up and bring their favourite festive classics that might be Char Siu Glazed Gammon, or Turkey Bao! Of course we wanted to embrace all the different cultures celebrating, so Chanukah dishes and other festive/atheist delights were also equally welcome.

A fantastic spread was put on, with really innovative and exciting new cuisine. Dishes ranged from Eight Treasures Christmas Pudding, to Braised Pork Belly with Cranberry Sauce. A lot of hard work went into creating these wonderful fusion dishes, and we were full to bursting by the end of the meal.

It was great to meet up again with old members and welcome new friends who had heard about the event from previous attendees. As ever, the food was delicious, and prepared with love. We had Chinese-appreciating foodies from all corners of the world, from Sydney to Sichuan to Sussex!⁣ Above all though, the conversations and connections are what make these potluck events special every time.

Early next year, we’ll be collaborating again with @celestialpeach_uk for a very special Lunar New Year Potluck Club, and we have set our sights on exciting new collaboration and ventures with #ChineseFoodiesofIG throughout the year.

Once again, many thanks to the fabulous Jenny Lau and #ChineseFoodiesofIG who made it a fantastic #Chinglish Christmas community potluck.
