Culture
At HCCS we hold several groups and services for our local community that connect to our Chinese heritage.

Festivals
In addition to regular clubs, we celebrate Chinese festivals including Lunar New Year and Mid Autumn Festival. We love to have a party, so we also celebrate British festivals such as Easter and Christmas as well. We always have a good reason to get together!

Mahjong
Mahjong is just one of the many activities we provide the Chinese elders in our community centre after their lunch. Several of our members have been attending and playing for several years. Come and join in if you dare!

Singing and Dancing
We hold ballroom dancing classes every Monday afternoon from 1:30 to 4pm. this provides our members with an opportunity for gentle exercise as well as socialising. We also have a very popular singing class held every Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. this is an opportunity to learn and perform classic Chinese songs. Our group has been invited to perform at various events in the past year.

Kung Fu
Hackney Chinese Community Services holds a martial arts group every Saturday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. during this time and members learn kung fu. The class is currently attended by adults and children, who are also invited to join where they will have the lesson adapted more specifically to their needs.

Ping Pong
Every Tuesday, Hackney Chinese Community Services hosts a ping pong club. For the more active members of our centre this is an excellent opportunity to keep fit and socialise with the group. We very much welcome new members.
